The design industry has consistently honored the work and career of Mary Douglas Drysdale. Her completed projects are frequently featured in prestigious publications, including over 70 career covers in the US and abroad. In 2020, Cindy Allan, Editor-in-Chief of Interior Design Magazine, selected Drysdale as one of 100 top American women designers. In 2019, Aspire Design and Home Magazine selected Drysdale to be the Design Chair of ASPIRE HOUSE McLean. In this role, Drysdale served as the architectural interiors consultant. She provided revised designs to the floor plans, millwork, trims, ceiling details, and finishes for the entire home. In 2019, Drysdale was also named one of the top 50 innovators in the Kitchen and Bath Industry by Kitchen & Bath Design News.

Drysdale was invited several times to participate in the annual, world-wide Andrew Martin International Interior Design Competition. Every year design professionals from around the world enter this highly regarded contest, with the hopes of garnering a top 100 recognition. In 2014, 2019,and 2021 Drysdale was named one of the top 100 designers in the world. In 2019, Drysdale was selected by High Point Market Authority as a "Style Spotter" for the year, and she was also selected as one of the top 200 international influencers in the world of interior design.

In 2018, Mary Douglas Drysdale was named by Traditional Home Magazine in the "Legends and New Trads," as a legend in American interior design. In the same year, Drysdale was included in a book entitled Interior Design Master Class, where she was featured as one of America's top interior designers.

In 2017, Drysdale's peers voted her into the Interior Design Hall of Fame, sponsored by Home & Design Magazine.

In 2016, High Point Market Authority honored Drysdale with the first ever Elevate Award: naming her as the Best American Interior Designer working in Luxury Traditional Interior Design. In 2015, Mary Douglas Drysdale was also selected by Luxe Magazine for their Gold List of Top American Interior Designers. In 2014, Drysdale was tapped by American Standard to design a bathroom expressing luxury and featuring their new DXV luxury line of fixtures and faucets.

For five years running, House Beautiful named her in their Top 100 List. In 2011, she became a member of House Beautiful's Family Tree of American Design. In 2009, she was nominated for the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum Interior Design Award for achievement in the field of Interior Design. Traditional Home Magazine honored Drysdale's work with an award for "Innovation in the Traditional Style". This Old House Magazine selected Drysdale in 2005 as one of the top 10 design professionals working on old homes in America. In 2001, Drysdale was named by Architecture and Interiors Magazine as one of "America's Top 200 Practicing Architects and Designers."
